All residents are entitled to change care homes if their current one isn’t the right fit for them – perhaps they are struggling with the adjustment or the location has hindered their family from visiting as regularly as they’d like. Referring to the terms and conditions of the contract will prevent any problems so that this is a smooth process.
Being surrounded by items from home can allow new residents to feel more comfortable and settled. At Bondcare, we welcome small items of furniture – such as a favourite armchair – and other treasured belongings – including photographs – so residents can personalise their rooms. All electrical items will be PAT tested and furniture will undergo a fire risk assessment to protect the safety of our residents and staff.
Our staff would be happy to show you around the home, but it is always advisable to book ahead to ensure that someone will be available to guide you around and provide you with all of the information you need to know.

At Bondcare, we provide nursing care of the highest standard in our homes across the country, with qualified, dedicated staff and a complete commitment to our residents’ safety, happiness and comfort.
Nursing care differs from residential care in a number of ways. Nursing care is designed for people with certain needs, particularly those with long-term medical conditions, disabilities and mobility issues. Nursing care homes are staffed by registered nurses and have access to GPs and pharmacists so that extra care can be provided quickly when required. Care is provided 24 hours a day by qualified nurses.
Bondcare nursing homes are designed to make residents feel as comfortable as possible, providing them with the support and care they need for a fulfilling, stimulating stay. Bondcare nursing care homes have a range of facilities, from beautiful gardens to relax in, to hair salons for pampering. Our nursing homes are fitted with specialist equipment to suit the needs of each of our residents, including mobility aids and specially-designed beds.
A varied menu of tasty, nutritious and filling meals is provided for all residents, with snacks available all day. Activity coordinators create detailed plans of activities for all our residents to ensure they remain stimulated, from trips to nearby town centres and amenities to armchair yoga, games and more.
For incoming residents, we take every possible step to make sure their integration is smooth and comfortable. Before a new resident moves into a Bondcare nursing home, a pre-admission assessment is completed so that our staff know more about them, which in turn allows them to ensure all required equipment is available to them upon arrival.
Nursing homes cater to people with a range of conditions, including:
Residential care homes and nursing homes share some similarities; they both offer 24-hour care, and residents are provided with all types of personal care and support. In terms of the environment, both types of home are designed to be as comfortable as possible, both literally and in terms of creating a welcoming, comforting experience for residents.
Nursing homes are staffed by registered nurses, whereas residential care homes are staffed by qualified carers who hold NVQ or RQF certification to level 2 or 3. When specialist nursing is required in a residential care home, a nurse is brought in. The nurses in a nursing home can provide 24-hour care and assistance, using specialist beds to move residents around where necessary. Staff in a residential care home are always on hand to assist residents with anything during the day, but independence is encouraged where possible.
You may be eligible for NHS-funded care if you live in a nursing home or if you’re not eligible for NHS continuing care but you have been assessed as needing care from a registered nurse. You will be assessed for NHS continuing care before a decision is made as to whether or not you can receive NHS-funded care. Every new resident to the care home will be assessed to ensure they receive the right type of care catered to their individual needs. Following this, a care plan will be created which sets out how the staff at the home will meet those needs for a comfortable stay. Care plans are typically reviewed on a monthly basis and are updated in the event there are any changes.
This will depend on your individual financial situation and care needs. If your finances total below a certain threshold, your local authority can contribute towards your fees – this can differ between countries in the UK, so make sure you familiarise yourself with this first. There are also some benefits options available that care home residents can claim, and the NHS also provides support with nursing care fees, too.
Should residents decide to bring small items of furniture or personal belongings, we are unable to accept responsibility in the event that they are lost or damaged, unless security precautions at the home have been compromised. It is strongly recommended that you arrange suitable contents insurance if you do decide to bring such items along with you.
My mum is a resident at this home, the staff are helpful and friendly. Despite her dementia and regular falls, all staff do everything to help with her quality of life. The food is lovely and regular entertainment and activities keep everyone active.
