The Fountains Care Centre in Rainham is located in the London Borough of Havering. It is a 62-bed, three-storey nursing home that is well-established in providing support to those with dementia and other additional needs. We pride ourselves on offering care that promotes dignity, independence and respect.

Registered manager Claire May works alongside a team of highly trained nurses and health care assistants to provide specialised care for each resident. Our multicultural team can speak a variety of languages – including English, German, Spanish and French – and work to ensure each guest has a specifically tailored care plan.

Facilities at the Fountains Care Centre

A full redecoration at the home has upgraded its look and functionality, making for a more enjoyable experience for residents.. Every room has a phone point, WiFi and an ensuite washroom; this promotes independence amongst our residents where possible. The gardens are secure and boast a number of seating areas and pathways, making it perfect for a gentle walk or a spot of wildlife watching. 

We realise the importance of maintaining strong familial bonds; that’s why we have flexible visiting hours to allow for easy and convenient visits with your loved ones. We also have a dedicated on-site chef who will tailor dishes depending on dietary requirements and personal preferences.

Activities at the Fountains Care Centre

As a home specialising in dementia care, the Fountains Care Centre offers a regular schedule of activities to stimulate the brain and promote mental and physical well-being in residents. For this, we host a book club, bingo, games nights, exercise classes and weekly hobby clubs. We also arrange regular visits from a chiropodist and a hairdresser to give our residents a pamper.

There are regular excursions planned for those who are capable – days out to museums, gardens and the beach to name a few – and our residents are also encouraged to visit the local area, where there are a wide range of amenities. They can be accompanied by family and friends, or we can provide a dedicated escort should this be required.

Local Amenities near the Fountains Care Centre

The Fountains Care Centre is situated near a number of different outdoor areas and parks. The Bretons Outdoor Recreation Centre is a nearby 172 acre recreational ground that supports a variety of different activities. It hosts many clubs, including hobby model flying which offers the perfect chance to get some fresh air whilst watching the model planes.

Hornchurch Country Park is also a 25-minute walk from the facility. This 250 acre nature reserve comprises a shop, cafe and river walks – it is an incredibly biodiverse area, home to water voles and a variety of birds.

The care home is also just a stone’s throw away from the town centre where there are a number of amenities, including cafes, a library and various shops.

The Fountains Care Centre is within walking distance of five regular bus routes, which provide transport to a range of locations across London and Essex. 

For those arriving by train, Rainham is only a 20-minute journey from London Fenchurch Street station. The town is situated on the London, Tilbury and Southend line, with trains departing every 15 minutes in peak times. The train station is a 6 minute drive from the home, making it ideally situated for days out or family visiting their loved ones.
