Margaret Hemstock is our registered manager; she works with a highly trained team of professionals to give individualised around-the-clock care to every resident.  Additionally, we operate as a respite care home. We understand how taxing it is to provide non-stop care, so we can give you a much-needed break to look after yourself whilst we look after your loved one.

Southwell Court care home is set in a rural area, with expansive grounds backing onto nearby fields. This allows our residents the important opportunity to connect with nature. We are a pet-friendly home, with access to car parking and Wi-Fi.

We have our own dedicated chef at Southwell Court, allowing us to cater for individual needs and preferences. This includes specific cultural and religious dietary requirements, as well as taking into account the evolving taste buds of those living with dementia.

We recognise that a bit of pampering on the outside can improve how you feel on the inside. That’s why we offer a hairdressing service on site, to ensure all our residents feel well cared for.

Activities at Southwell Court

As a dementia care home, our team understands the importance of keeping the brain stimulated. Our designated activities co-ordinator provides a specially designed events programme, aimed at keeping our residents both physically and mentally active. This includes a range of sensory activities, board game sessions and special afternoons dedicated to reminiscing.

Southwell Court aims to build a warm and tight-knit community. That’s why we host a variety of social events, which include bingo, various coffee mornings and our regular ‘knit and natter’ sessions!

We have a popular Facebook page, which keeps the families of residents updated on all of our daily activities.

Southwell Court care home is situated in Southwell, a historic market town in Nottinghamshire. Where possible, we encourage local outings for our residents and there are numerous day trip options nearby. Southwell is home to a beautiful high street, lined with independent shops and elegant Regency houses. There is also a bi-weekly market, supplying a variety of food and craft stalls.

The town is steeped in history, and the care home is only a 15-minute walk from Southwell Minster and Archbishop’s Palace. This majestic cathedral contains spectacular architecture, whilst the palace gardens provide the perfect place to wander and admire the views. Southwell Workhouse is also just around the corner, offering an interesting and informative day out to residents. This National Trust property hosts multiple activity days and events, providing something different each time you visit.

Residents will always be accompanied by a dedicated escort – whether family or staff – to ensure their safety.

Southwell Court care home is located between Newark and Nottingham. As such, we are situated near a number of reliable transport options. The 28 and 29 buses operate from Newark, whilst the 100 bus services the route between us and Nottingham. All bus stops are within a 5-minute walking distance of the facility.
