An 80-bed facility set on its own grounds just outside the heart of Luton, Moorland Gardens care home is designed to meet a wide range of needs, including those living with mental health and physical disabilities. Rooms come with en suite toilet and washroom facilities to create a home away from home for our residents.

Deborah Adams and her team of registered nurses, care assistants and general staff work hard to deliver the highest level of care for residents. Languages spoken by staff include English, Polish, Romanian, Hindu and Urdu to aid communication and make service users feel more comfortable at all times.

Mealtime at Moorland Gardens care home Luton is more than just about food, though a specialist catering team is on hand to ensure menus provide variety and enjoyment for all. The social element of eating is reflected in the dining rooms and the atmosphere created by staff. With three meals a day, mid-morning snacks and afternoon tea all served, residents are well catered for – special annual events such as Valentine’s Day, Ascot Ladies Day and Chinese New Year are also used to make mealtimes more enjoyable and engaging.

The outdoor space provides gardens for residents to enjoy and unwind in to make the most of good weather where possible. We encourage our green-fingered residents to get involved, planting seeds and watering flowers so they can enjoy the fruits of their labour when our gardens are in full bloom. Our chicken house entertains and comforts residents, providing them with an opportunity to care for the animals and interact with the other residents.

Wi-Fi is freely accessible in the building and parking is free for visitors who are encouraged to visit their family and friends at the site at any time.

We are of the opinion that it’s never too late to learn, with some residents taking up hobbies they’ve never tried out before. Our dedicated activity team schedules activities on a weekly basis, ranging from craft sessions and hand massages to bingo and baking. Our knitting, crocheting and sewing club is popular amongst residents, along with memory games, quizzes and board games to keep their minds active.

Where possible, residents can take visits to the local area when accompanied by a member of staff, a friend or a relative. Day trips are often arranged for residents, with visits to parks, museums, zoos and shops.
