Description
Kelvedon House in Wednesbury is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built 52-bed care home split into 4 units. We are situated across the road from Brunswick Park which we frequently visit and enjoy.
The Park View and Jobs Way units specialise in Dementia Care and the Knowles and Wesley Court units support people living with complex Learning Disability needs. Kelvedon House specialises in supporting people with Dementia, Mixed Dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease, Autism/ASD, Bipolar/Manic Depression, Cancer Care, Cerebral Palsy, Challenging Behaviours, Down’s Syndrome, Epilepsy, Head/Brain Injury, Hearing Impairment & Deafness, Huntington’s Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Orthopaedic Needs, Parkinson’s Disease, Speech Impairment and Visual Impairment care services for both younger and older adults.
We also provide short-term respite care to help families and loved ones take a break from their caring roles.
All of our individual bedrooms have en-suite wet rooms and toilet facilities.
We promote individualised person-centred care in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, encouraging independence, choice and dignity throughout all that we do.
Kelvedon House was awarded the Recognition of Dementia Care Improvement Award from Walsall Council in October 2016.
Nicky McCaffer is the Registered Manager, and together with a strong team of experienced and trained staff, work hard throughout the day and night to ensure that our residents’ care needs are met and that the care home feels like a ‘home from home’.
We have our own dedicated chef at Kelvedon House, allowing us to cater for individual needs and preferences including specific cultural and religious dietary requirements.
Kelvedon House offers a wide range of services such as Physiotherapy and a full activities programme which includes regular daily outings to local attractions, cafes and garden centres, a hydrotherapy pool (including track hoisting), a sensory room and two minibuses to ensure that residents are able to access the community to enjoy the activities that they love.
The ‘311’ bus stops right outside Kelvedon House and we are within walking distance to Wednesbury Town Centre. Walsall and West Bromwich Town Centres are just a short bus ride away and the nearest tram line stop is a 5 minute walk away. We are 5 minutes from Junction 9 off the M6.
