Care Home  – Okehampton

Bracken Tor House in Okehampton, Devon, is a 7-bed care home for younger people with learning disabilities and associated mental health issues. From Bracken Tor House, we also run Reach Out Devon – an enablement service registered for personal care – where we support younger adults in the community and in the comfort of their homes. We can also provide short term respite care to help families and loved ones take a break from their caring roles.

To the rear of the property we have a small garden with a barbecue area as well as outdoor games for residents to enjoy. Four vehicles can fit on our drive, with additional parking on the street for visitors.

We promote individualised person-centred care in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, encouraging independence, choice and dignity throughout all that we do.

Sarah Pyne is the Registered Manager, and together with a strong team of experienced and trained staff, works throughout the day and night to ensure that our residents’ individual care needs are met with dignity and passion and that the care home feels like a ‘home from home’.

We are able to cater for individual dietary needs and preferences including specific cultural and religious dietary requirements.

Bracken Tor offers car parking, WiFi, is pet-friendly and provides a wide range of other services, including a full activities programme which is centred around every resident’s individual choices.

We have excellent working relationships with local professionals (GPs, Community Nurses, Commissioners etc.) and we have a strong reputation for providing good quality care to our residents.
