Alexander Court Care Centre is an 82-bed facility in Dagenham which is dedicated to providing high quality care for a huge range of disabilities, disorders and behaviours. Providing 24 hour residential care, seven days a week, the team offer elderly care, end of life care and younger care.
The three-storey facility is managed by Abiodun Enitan Afuape, with a caring and qualified team (qualifications include Health & Social Care levels 2-3, Registered Mental Health Nurses and more). The multicultural staff help make residents feel comfortable, speaking a range of languages, including Romanian, Ghanaian, Polish and Swahili.
Providing fresh food from an excellent kitchen, nutritional needs are always met; there is also a cafe and bar for all to enjoy. The centre features a spacious garden area for residents to relax in by themselves or with relatives, with pets encouraged on visits. Rooms come with an en-suite, phone point and access to the internet for the comfort of residents.
While there are plenty of places to relax in peace, there are also plenty of activities happening at Alexander Court, helping to keep residents stimulated mentally and socially. Quizzes, table tops games, bingo, arts and crafts are regularly scheduled, with gardening and an in-home cat other ways to enjoy the space.
Within easy reach of local features – including local shops, parks, markets and cafes – there are often day trips for residents take part in. Meanwhile, the centre hosts fun days, fetes, barbecues and more on site to entertain residents and relatives alike.

With our caring, therapeutic and PBS informed approach, led by Registered Manager Rebecca Jackson we have seen over ten people move on into our community services houses or other less restrictive environments.
Amelia House and our community services has won two national awards at the Learning Disability and Autism Awards 2021 and 2022 and been a finalist in 2023.
We provide a steppingstone service or an assessment-based environment to understand a person’s long-term care and support needs and also work hard to provide an independent learning roadmap, building community links, educational or employment opportunities or working closely with professionals to reduce incidents of self-harm, physical aggression or property damage.

We have 50 bedrooms available, 3 of which are shared, perfect for couples or siblings. All rooms and social areas, including lounges, have telephone points, TVs, internet access and a nurse call point. Pets are also welcome, by arrangement, as is the ability to have residents’ own furniture in the room if preferred.
Residents at Ashurst Park Care Home can enjoy home-cooked meals from our on-site chefs, who cater to any dietary requirements. Our dining spaces are always a hub of conversation and a place for residents to relax, socialise and receive assistance should they require it. Of course, those who prefer can have their meals brought up to their room, with family members able to join them for a small fee.
Ashurst Park also has beautiful gardens where residents can sit back and enjoy nature, or perhaps some afternoon tea, a garden party and even a BBQ, when the weather is favourable. Some of our more green-fingered residents also like to help with the planting in the gardens and are able to do so using our easily-accessible flower beds and vegetable patches.

]]>A fully equipped kitchen allows the head chef at Ashwood to provide a rotating menu over four weeks, providing for the nutritional and dietary needs for residents. A specialist menu is created to meet individual needs and all the food is prepared in-house.
With a set programme of activities across each week, the Ashwood team provide sessions for arts and crafts, doll therapy, music and movement and afternoon tea in the tea room or in the garden when the weather allows. Bingo, hand massages, nail care and live entertainment is regularly arranged to keep residents entertained and stimulated.
While the garden is available for residents to relax in, trips in the local area with staff are also arranged, allowing residents to enjoy shops, restaurants, pubs and parks. A summer fayre is held each year and family days are held around Christmas, too. To help residents transition to life at Ashwood, pets are allowed to visit by appointment.
